Jane Battistelli transitioned to Chief Executive Officer at Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre in June 2022.
She joined the leadership team in 2008 as the Clinical Manager of the Emergency & Acute Care Department and transitioned to the position of Chief Nursing Officer in 2015. Over those 13 years her clinical and leadership experience have strengthen clinical programs, quality patient-centred care, community partnerships and the strategic direction across the health campus.
Jane has over three decades of health care experience and her nursing career began as a Registered Nurse at Sudbury General Hospital. There she spent 17 years in the Emergency Department and Medical setting where she developed foundational skills and clinical knowledge to deliver quality patient – centred care and programs.
Jane serves as the Administrator of the Espanola Nursing Home and the Managing Director of the Espanola & Area Family Health Team. She also holds a Diploma in Health Care Management and her leadership has been instrumental in representing the rural northern voice in health care transformation and redesign. She values partnerships and working in collaboration with health and community providers across the region to ensure access and equity of rural health care & services.
Jennifer has been employed with Espanola Regional Hospital & Health Centre (ERHHC) since January of 2021. She graduated from Cambrian College in 1994 with a Diploma in Business Administration – Accounting and obtained her Certified General Accountant’s (CGA) designation in 1997. The CGA designation is transitioning to the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).
Jennifer has joined us from her role as Chief Financial Officer at the North Shore Health Network (NSHN) after 17 years. During her tenure at NSHN, Jennifer was the senior executive for the implementation of the MediTech EMR project and the project lead for the amalgamation of the Thessalon and Richards Landing sites along with the associated Auxiliaries.
Prior to that Jennifer worked in various roles in the private sector. These include providing tax and accounting services and teaching.
Jennifer’s current role as Chief Financial Officer has her overseeing the management of many of the supporting departments that include Finance, Informatics and Information Technology, Materials Management, Central Sterilization, Environmental Services, Queensway Place, and Health Records. Jennifer’s role also includes the management of the Espanola Non-Profit Housing Corporation and the financial reporting of the Espanola Family Health Team.
Anna has most recently been employed at ERHHC in the role of Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Clinical Services since September 2021. She graduated from Canadore College in 1999 as a Respiratory Therapist and worked in the profession for 15 years in a variety of different settings. During this time Anna completed her BSc Nursing Degree in 2009 and Master of Nursing in 2013 at Laurentian University. Anna worked as a frontline nurse on a part time basis in the Emergency department and Acute care at ERHHC for 8 years.
Most recently Anna has joined us from her role as the Clinical Operations Manager of the Intensive Care Unit at Health Sciences North where she led a large Multidisplinary team for the past 6 years. Anna’s current role as Director of Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer has her overseeing the management of the Clinical Services Departments, which include the Emergency Department, Acute Care Medical Unit, Specialist Clinics, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Social Services.
Marlo has been with the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre since 2011, starting in the Human Resources Manager role and is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources. She is a seasoned human resource professional with over 15 years’ experience, has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Laurentian University, and a graduate certificate from York University in Human Resources Management. She has spent her career gaining experience in multi-unionized environments with a focus on labour and employee relations, talent management, and workplace wellness and culture. Marlo is passionate about creating collaborative workplace environments that empower and support its employees.
Marlo’s current role as Director of Human Resources has her overseeing many support departments that include, Human Resources, Public Relations and Communications, Foundation, Payroll and Benefits Administration, Scheduling, Occupational Health and Infection Control, Staff Education and Quality Improvement. Her role also includes leadership development and continued emphasis on labour and employee relations, talent management, and workplace wellness
