Senior Management Team


Chief Executive Officer - Nicole Haley, RN, BSc, MN


Nicole has been employed at ERHHC since 2004, commencing in the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Clinical Services role, which has led her to the Chief Executive Officer position. She possesses over 27 years of combined clinical and administrative experience, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1988. Nicole has furthered her education, completing a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo in 1995, Advanced Graduate Diploma: Advanced Nursing Practice in 2004, Masters of Nursing degree in 2005 from Athabasca University and Long-Term Care Administrator certification from Canadian Healthcare Association in 2014. 


Over the span of her 27 year career, Nicole has grown to be an accomplished executive with extensive experience leading people, building teams, improving and expanding healthcare programs and systems across the continuum of care. Nicole leads by example with patient centered decision making, to provide excellence in service delivery models of care.   


Nicole possesses extensive clinical and administrative experience in a variety of settings including large urban hospitals as well as small rural health care facilities. Throughout her experience she has lead a variety of teams and capital renovation projects, most recently the expansion and redevelopment of the Emergency Department in Espanola. Throughout her years of experience, Nicole has become proficient in multi-faceted healthcare operations, strategic and operational planning, quality and performance improvement, relationship and team building, utilization management, patient safety and labour relations. 


Nicole has built top performing teams of healthcare professionals and instilled a shared commitment of quality, “patient’s first” philosophy providing empathetic patient centered care. Her leadership has resulted in acquisition/implementation of additional patient services, as noted in successful Accreditation Canada awards.


Chief Nursing Officer - Jane Battistelli, RN


Jane has been employed with Espanola Regional Hospital & Health Centre (ERHHC) since 2008. She graduated from Cambrian College in 1991 with a Diploma in Nursing and has furthered her career with a Certificate in Critical Care Nursing 1992 and a Modern Management Certification from Canadian Healthcare Association in 2013. She possesses over 24 years of nursing experience, with 17 of those being in a clinical setting and the majority of her years as a front line Emergency Room Nurse at Sudbury General Hospital. Jane has also worked in the past as a part-time RN for the Espanola and Area Family Health Team, as well as a Clinical Instructor with the RPN program at Cambrian College. 


From 2008 to 2014 Jane managed the Emergency Department, Acute Care Unit and the Visiting Specialist Clinics at ERHHC. In this role she put her Emergency Department expertise to work and was deeply involved in the Emergency Department Redevelopment Project. Jane’s input from the beginning stages of submission to the Ministry, the architectural design, construction phases and operational planning stages have been instrumental in the state of the art Emergency Department that was built for this community.


Jane’s current role as Director of Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer has her overseeing the management of the Clinical Services Departments, which include the Emergency Department, Acute Care Medical Unit, Specialist Clinics, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Physiotherapy, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Social Services. 


Chief Financial Officer - Kim Roy, CGA


In 2004 Kim joined the Senior Management Team of the Espanola Regional Hospital & Health Centre as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, she is responsible for all financial aspects of the organization plus a number of support services. She works closely with the Board of Directors and is the lead staff on the Audit and Finance Committee.


Kim is a Certified General Accountant with more than 25 years of experience in hospital finance. She participates in provincial health care funding initiatives as an active member of the Health Care Financial Management Association and the Health System Funding Small Hospitals Working Group.
