ERHHC Joins National Indigenous Cultural Safety Collaborative

Espanola, ON — The Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre has been accepted into Healthcare Excellence Canada's - Advancing Cultural Safety Together Collaborative, a two-year initiative that brings together 80 healthcare organizations from across Canada to advance Indigenous cultural safety and address systemic racism in healthcare. The collaborative brings organizations together to learn from one another, strengthen relationships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, and identify practical actions that support culturally safe care.

As part of this work, CEO Martin Lees will attend a meeting of the collaborative's Executive Sponsors in Ottawa this November, where healthcare leaders from across the country will come together to share experiences, discuss progress, and support this work moving forward.

We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and look forward to learning from others as we continue our own journey toward creating a more culturally safe and respectful environment.
