Espanola, ON — ERHHC's Long-Term Care Home has completed its annual respiratory vaccine clinic, ensuring all eligible residents have been offered and brought up to date on recommended RSV, influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations ahead of the 2026-2027 respiratory illness season.
Respiratory viruses circulate most often during the fall and winter months and can cause serious illness in older adults, particularly those living in congregate settings. Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools to help reduce the risk of severe illness, hospitalization and respiratory outbreaks.
The clinic is part of ERHHC's ongoing commitment to resident safety and quality of care. By providing access to recommended vaccines before respiratory virus activity begins to increase, the Home is helping strengthen protection for residents throughout the season.
Public Health has advised that ERHHC may be among the first long-term care homes in the area to complete resident vaccinations this year, something our team is proud to celebrate.
A special thank you to Lindsay, Natalie and Mandie, who coordinated this year's clinic and worked closely with residents, families and the broader care team to make it a success.
As respiratory illness season approaches, ERHHC will continue working alongside residents, families, staff and community partners to support infection prevention measures and help keep residents healthy, safe and well throughout the months ahead.
